Our time in Thailand

Well we made it around the world!  We are very thankful that we got to Thailand a few days before we meet our son.  Since we are a day "ahead" it has been nice being able to just chill.  Our first day we spent walking the streets and getting familiar with our surroundings.  The traffic here is worse than DC (if you can imagine).  They have no regards to how close they go, motorcycles fly in-between everyone and there are cars everywhere.  Our second day we went on a "tour" to the floating market.  It was a tourist trap but still nice to see the country side.  We got to take a ride on a "motor boat" to the market then there is anything you could possible need or not need.

We are looking forward to tomorrow (Monday), it's the big day! We have a meeting in the morning with the social worker here in Thailand and then they bring our son over for lunch.  Later in the afternoon we get to meet his Foster Mother and see where he has been living.  My emotions are everywhere, excited, scared, nervous but we know that God is in control and He has been here every step of the way.  Thanks so much for praying for our journey and the newest Habecker addition!

Grateful Hearts

We can never express how thankful we are for our church family!  They hosted a fundraising night for our adoption and another family who is adopting from Taiwan.  God worked mightily, it was a huge success!  What a testimony it was to us of how we are called to help others in times of need.  We are so grateful to be a part of such a giving family of believers!

Our little Man

This week we got an important document from the Thailand government (Article 16).  It states that they pre-approved our  interest in adoption and that our little man is eligible to be adopted by us!  WOW!  This is a huge step towards God's plans of bringing him into our family.  What this also states is that things are moving along and very shortly we will be traveling to bring him home.  We have a tentative date but much is contingent on our paperwork.  This is much sooner than we anticipated but we are not complaining!  God's timing is far greater than ours!

"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father our our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans 15:5&6

Journey

Some of you may know that we have desired to add to our family. We tired the domestic adoption road for the second time and felt that when our time expired (after 2 years) we would let it go. Some of you may also know that I have had the desire to adopt internationally. The feeling wasn't shared, just mine. So I let it go and continued to pray for God's guidance. One day upon praying with our pastor, I let it go to God. That afternoon God moved in Tim's heart and we decided to pursue international adoption. Many who know me know that since I had the idea in my head I already researched this road since it was placed on my heart. To make a long story short we decided to go the route of international adoption. God picked the country for us and we got the ball rolling. Rolling the ball hasn't been smooth but it is rolling. We just recently received several grants to pursue this road, completed all required paperwork up till now and are amazed with how God is leading us in this journey. This is the road God has paved for us!  So please pray for our journey and we will keep you updated.

Coffee Jar Collections

Well it is public that we are going through the stages of adopting another family member. After much prayer and the Lord working in our hearts we have decided to set our sails to Thailand. It is going to be a really long process and we debated telling everyone because of the length of time. The more we went into the process we realized we are going to need help financially. So if you are reading this and want to help us out then check out our storefront with Just Love Coffees.
https://justlovecoffee.com/Habby All you need to do is buy coffee from them and a portion of the proceeds goes towards our adoption. I know you may have many questions, we do to, but we will keep you updated as much as we can. Until then enjoy a cup of Java and say a little prayer for newest member out there :)
